Terms and Conditions

 
 

1 Tour Price

 

Prices quoted on the price insert in this brochure, are based on air fares, hotel prices, land costs and rates of exchange at the date printed on the price insert. Payment is required in cash, bank guaranteed cheque or credit card. Beachcomber Tours reserves the right to adjust tour prices in accordance with increase in air fares, hotel rates, seasonal adjustments and currency fluctuations after such date.

 

2 Hotels

 

Once hotel reservations have been confirmed, Beachcomber reserves the right to substitute hotels listed with others of a similar or higher category at no additional cost to the passenger, even after departure from South Africa.

 

3 Tour Leader

 

The tours specified in this brochure do not include the services of a tour leader from South Africa.

 

4 Special Requests

 

Special requests must be made at the time of booking. Beachcomber Tours will endeavour to comply with the special requests, however, cannot guarantee that they will be met.

 

5 Not Included in Prices

 

Prices quoted do not include airport taxes and any additional surcharges levied by the airlines, costs of obtaining visas and passports, telephone calls, laundry, entertainment arrangements not shown in the brochure, meals and beverages unless specified, or any other item of a personal nature.

 

6 Reservations

 

On confirmation of the booking, please complete and sign the booking form. A non-refundable deposit of between 20% and 40% of the total tour price is payable within 72 hours of confirmation of the reservation. The balance owing on the invoice must be paid 8 weeks prior to departure. The company reserves the right to cancel any reservation for which the total price has not been paid by due date, in which event the deposit will be forfeited to the company. Beachcomber Tours guarantees the price of land arrangements once full payment is received, except where subsequent increases are beyond the control of Beachcomber Tours. Air fares are subject to the prices and conditions quoted by the airlines and cannot be guaranteed by Beachcomber Tours.

 

7 Method of Payment

 

Beachcomber Tours will accept payment for all land arrangements in cash, bank guaranteed cheque or credit card.

 

8 Cancellations and Curtailment

 

In the event of the passenger cancelling their reservation for any reason, such cancellation must be made in writing and in such instances, cancellation charges will be levied in accordance with the maximum charges which can be imposed. From time of booking up to 8 weeks prior to departure, the deposit is forfeited. Cancellation fees apply once air tickets are issued.

8 Weeks prior : 25% of total tour price
6 Weeks prior : 30% of total tour price
4 Weeks prior : 50% of total tour price
3 Weeks prior : 80% of total tour price
2 Weeks prior : 100% of total tour price

Cancellation fees during peak period being 20 December – 08 January, will be more stringent.

 

9 Amendments

 

Amendments to confirmed reservations will be processed at a fee of R300 (including VAT) for each alteration made to the booking after the initial reservation. If notice of amendments is received within 8 weeks prior to departure, the above cancellation charges may be levied. Administration charges will be levied on all documentation/vouchers submitted for re-issue or refund. Changes to airtickets once they have been issued, constitute an amendment fee.

 

10 Refunds and unused services

 

No refunds will be made for no-shows, or any unused services irrespective of whether they form part of the basic inclusive tour price, or whether they are in respect of pre-booked optional arrangements.

 

11 Delays

 

The company does not hold itself responsible for any delays prior to departure nor during the course of any tour mentioned in this brochure whether brought about by technical difficulties, strikes, weather conditions or any other circumstances whatsoever, whether foreseen or unforeseen. It is understood that any expenses relating to these unscheduled extensions (eg hotels, meals, airfares, telephone calls, etc) will be for the passengers' account.

 

12 Travel Documents

 

Documentation is only prepared on receipt of full and final payment and a signed booking form and travel declaration form. All passengers will be personally responsible for ensuring that they are in possession of the correct documentation prior to their departure. Beachcomber Tours does not accept responsibility for any consequences whatsoever from a passenger failing to ensure that he or she has complied with the necessary health, passport and visa requirements.

 
 

13 Itinerary Alterations

 

The company reserves the right to cancel the tour prior to departure, in which event the entire tour price paid by the passenger will be refunded without prejudice and any further obligation on the part of Beachcomber Tours. While every effort is made to keep to all itineraries, Beachcomber Tour reserves the right to make any changes for the passenger's convenience. The duration of the tour may have to be extended or curtailed owing to unforeseen changes in transport schedules. Any resultant expense will be borne by the passenger, and any saving refunded.

 

14 Passport, Visas, Vaccinations, Inoculations and Re-entry permits

 

The responsibility to obtain correct, current and valid passports, visas, vaccinations, inoculations and re-entry permits where required, is that of the passenger alone. Beachcomber Tours will not be held responsible or liable for any consequence of any nature arising from the customer failing to ensure that he/she has complied with all such requirements.

15 Insurance

 

We strongly advise passengers to take out insurance against cancellation, curtailments, illness, loss of baggage and default at the time of booking. Please ask your ASATA travel agent for details.

 

16 Following Departure

 

Amendments and all cancellations en route must be made with our overseas operators directly. Please note that en route cancellations and amendments may incur additional fees as determined by our overseas operators, the cost of which must be settled with our operators directly.

 

17 Liabilities

 

Beachcomber Tours makes every effort to ensure that all arrangements and services connected with your tour will be carried out as specified in the most efficient and effective way possible. However, we do not have direct control over the provision of services by suppliers and, whilst they are in all cases selected with the utmost care, we do not accept liability for error and omissions of such suppliers. Beachcomber Tours also accepts no liability for changes, omissions or delays before or during the course of any published tour occasioned by technical difficulties, weather conditions, strikes or communication breakdowns.

18 Responsibility

 

The company acts as an agent only in producing and operating the tours and arrangements featured in this brochure, and on condition that it shall not be liable for any loss, damage, injury, accident, delay or any other irregularity that may be occasioned by any defect in any vehicle, or other form of conveyance, or by error or default of any company or person engaged in conveying passengers, carrying out the arrangements of the tour, or otherwise in connection therewith.

 

19 Airline Responsibility

 

The airline concerned is not to be held responsible for any act, omission or event during the time the passengers are not aboard their aircraft. The passenger ticket in use by the airline, when issued, shall constitute the sole contract between the airline and the passenger.

 

20 Airline Information

 

A baggage allowance of 20kg per person is permitted on international flights. Passengers are reminded that they are responsible for reconfirmation of flights more than 72 hours prior to departure. Failure to do so may result in the cancellation of a flight reservation by the airline.

21 General Information

 

Beachcomber Marketing (Pty) Ltd trading as Beachcomber Tours (herein called the “company”), cannot be held responsible for any charges that appear on a passenger's credit card, nor accept responsibility for having any of these charges reversed or corrected upon the passenger's return to South Africa.

If passengers intend to drive a rental car, they should obtain an international driving permit from their local AA office in South Africa . Please ensure that you are in possession of your local driving licence as you will be asked to produce it at the car rental check in counter.

 

22 Travel Declaration

 

Beachcomber Tours requires that all foreign payments that are made on behalf of the passenger, must be deducted from the passenger's foreign exchange allowance. A currency declaration to this effect must be lodged before final documentation can be released.

 

23 ASATA

 

Beachcomber Tours is a registered member of ASATA's South African Tour Operator Association (SATOA).

E-commerce & Privacy

 

The Website www.beachcomber.co.za sells Mauritius and Seychells holiday packages online.  The use of any product or service bought from this Website is at the purchaser’s risk. The purchaser/ user indemnifies and holds the Provider harmless against any loss, injury or damages which may be sustained as a result of using the products sold on the Website. 

The private information required for executing the package/s placed through the e-commerce facility, namely the User’s personal information and credit card details, delivery address and telephone numbers will be kept in the strictest confidence by the Provider and not sold or made known to third parties. Only the necessary information, that is the delivery address and contact phone number will be made known to third parties delivering the product.  Credit card details are not kept by the Provider under any circumstances.

The Provider cannot be held responsible for security breaches occurring on the User’s electronic device (Personal Computer or other electronic device used to browse the Website), which may result due to the lack of adequate virus protection software or spyware that the User may inadvertently have installed on his/her device.

 

Online Payment - MyGate Payment Gateway

 

All online credit card payments are processed by the MyGate Internet Payment Gateway.  Card Holders may go to www.mygate.co.za to view MyGate security policy.

 

Updating of these Terms and Conditions

 

Provider reserves the rights to change, modify, add or remove from portions or the whole of these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Changes to these Terms and Conditions will become effective upon such changes being posted to this Website. It is the User’s obligation to periodically check these Terms and Conditions at the Website for changes or updates. The User’s continued use of this Website following the posting of changes or updates will be considered notice of the User’s acceptance to abide by and be bound by these Terms and Conditions, including such changes or updates.

 

Limitation of liability

 

The Website and all Content on the Website, including any current or future offer of products or services, are provided on an “as is” basis, and may include inaccuracies or typographical errors. The Owners make no warranty or representation as to the availability, accuracy or completeness of the Content. Neither Provider nor any holding company, affiliate or subsidiary of Provider, shall be held responsible for any direct or indirect special, consequential or other damage of any kind whatsoever suffered or incurred, related to the use of, or the inability to access or use the Content or the Website or any functionality thereof, or of any linked website, even if Provider is expressly advised thereof.

 

Privacy: casual surfing

 

The User may visit the Website without providing any personal information. The Website servers will in such instances collect the IP address of the User computer, but not the email address or any other distinguishing information. This information is aggregated to measure the number of visits, average time spent at the Website, pages viewed, etc. Provider uses this information to determine use of the Website, and to improve Content thereon.
